Native to almost the entire state of California and Oregon, these yellow annuals form mesmerizing yellow ‘carpets’ in meadows and hillsides. California Goldfields, also known as Valley Goldfields, are annual herbs that are part of the sunflower family. They bloom in the late winter to early spring and grow well in full sun to partial shade. Low water requirements and easy to grow. This plant also attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
