Shipping
Nature’s Seed processes domestic orders from its Lehi, Utah warehouse within 3–5 business days (up to 5 days during peak season) . Standard UPS shipping takes an additional 2–7 business days, depending on destination . Orders over $150 qualify for free “Economy” shipping within the contiguous U.S. (you must select this option at checkout), while smaller orders incur a calculated shipping fee, typically $10 for standard economy delivery. Alaska and Hawaii are eligible for shipping, though free shipping does not apply there, and rural, remote, or expedited shipments may require extra fees or 1–2 extra delivery days . More information

AM 120 Standard is a premium arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) inoculant containing 100% Rhizophagus intraradices(formerly Glomus intraradices), delivering 300 propagules per gram. It’s designed to form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots—extending hyphae networks throughout the soil to enhance water, phosphorus, and micronutrient uptake, improve drought tolerance, and boost germination and biomass production .

Common applications include:

  • Native plant and ecological restoration – excellent for reforestation, slope stabilization.

  • Nursery/greenhouse seedling production – pre-colonize seedlings in trays or pots (e.g., 5 lb per yd³ medium).

  • Agriculture & row crops – side-dress seed furrows or transplant holes at 5–8 lb/acre (or per 30–40″ row); broadcast for cereals, legumes, and vegetables .

  • Turf, lawns, and hydroseeding – spread 1–2 lb per 1,000 ft² or 60 lb/acre; effective with native meadow or turf seeding .

Best Paired With

To maximize the benefits of AM 120:

  1. Direct root contact
Apply at planting, mixing with seed, or placing around root balls to ensure spores touch roots—dry broadcasting alone limits effectiveness .

  2. Low-to-moderate phosphorus soils
High phosphorus levels hinder colonization—avoid over-fertilizing before or during application.

  3. Healthy organic soil or growing media
Use with good-quality potting mixes or tilled topsoil to support fungal establishment; avoid overly sterilized environments .

  4. Complementary sustainable practices
Pair with minimal tillage, crop rotation, cover crops, and organic amendments to strengthen native soil microbial communities .

How It Works

  • Forms an extensive network of hyphae expanding the root’s reach far beyond its physical extent.

  • Enhances uptake of immobile nutrients like phosphorus, zinc, and copper; improves water access and drought resistance .

  • Stimulates soil structure and carbon sequestration, producing glomalin “soil glue” that enhances water retention and carbon storage .

  • Promotes plant growth, survival, and yield, especially in seedlings and stressed soils; USGS trials confirmed improved germination or biomass in over 70% of tested species .

Guide to Using AM 120

Application Situation Rate & Application Method
Broadcast / Lawn & Seed Spread 1–2 lb per 1,000 ft² (≈60 lb/acre); lightly incorporate or cover with mulch, then water .
Row crops / transplants Side‑dress 5–8 lb/acre in seed furrow or transplant hole; cover with soil at 2–6″ depth .
Nursery media Mix evenly at 5 lb per cubic yard (≈300 k propagules/yd³) .
Hydroseeding / restoration Blend inoculum with seed and organic fertilizer in first slurry pass; mulch afterwards .
Established plants Use root drench or soil injection (e.g., turkey baster) around drip zone—ensure contact, don’t rely on foliar use .

Best Practices

  • Timing: Apply at planting or transplanting for optimal colonization; inoculating established plants requires soil injection near roots.

  • One-time application: Once colonized, additional inoculation isn’t necessary unless soil is disturbed or sterilized.

  • Minimize phosphorus fertilizer: High phosphorus can suppress fungal establishment.

  • Keep spores viable: Avoid sunlight and store in a cool, dry place; handle with a dust mask when dry .

Why Choose AM 120 Standard?

  • Proven single‑species effectiveness across climates from Canada to Costa Rica .

  • High propagule density ensures robust colonization and quicker root‑fungi networks .

  • Versatility for ecological restoration, agriculture, turf, and nursery use.

  • Supports sustainable soil health—enhanced nutrient efficiency, water retention, carbon storage, and soil structure.
