Our South-Atlantic Transitional alpaca/llama pasture mix has been designed for the transitional zone of the eastern United States, an area that experiences both the hot, humid climate of the South and the cooler temperatures further north. It contains a selection of grasses designed to provide nutrient-dense, palatable forage. This mix also includes a high percentage of soft, leafy grasses that are more compatible with the grazing styles and mouth shapes of alpacas and llamas. Treat your alpacas and llamas to the best whether you’re raising them for their fiber, packing abilities or as a hobby. Performs best in areas of northeastern Texas, eastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, northern Louisiana, northern Mississippi, the southeastern tip of Kansas, southern Missouri, southern Illinois, Kentucky, southern Indiana, northern Alabama, northern Georgia, northwestern South Carolina, central and western North Carolina, northern and western Virginia, Tennessee and New Jersey. This mix produces a pasture that will contain approximately:
40% Orchardgrass
30% Tall Fescue (endophyte free)
15% Kentucky Bluegrass
15% Timothy
In an effort to help our customers visualize the finished product, note that the percentages listed above are what you can expect the stand to contain once established. For the contents of this seed mix by weight, please contact us to request a digital copy of the seed tag.
