Our experts have designed this horse pasture mix specifically for the subtropical states of the South and the cooler northern states found in the border along the South Atlantic Transitional region. The grasses and legumes weโve selected are both nutrient-dense and palatable, as well as aggressive enough to withstand the heavy grazing common with horses. This mix will perform best in the areas of northeastern Texas, eastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, northern Louisiana, northern Mississippi, the southeastern tip of Kansas, southern Missouri, southern Illinois, Kentucky, southern Indiana, northern Alabama, northern Georgia, northwestern South Carolina, central and western North Carolina, northern and western Virginia, Tennessee and New Jersey. This mix produces a pasture that will contain approximately:
40% Tall Fescue (endophyte free)
20% Meadow Brome
15% Perennial Ryegrass
15% Kentucky Bluegrass
10% Alfalfa
In an effort to help our customers visualize the finished product, note that the percentages listed above are what you can expect the stand to contain once established. For the contents of this seed mix by weight, please contact us to request a digital copy of the seed tag.
