The South Atlantic Transitional zone is perhaps one of the most difficult places to grow pasture grass in the country. A transitional zone is an area of the country that borders two different climates. An example of this can be found in states like Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. We have developed a pasture seed mix for this zone that requires little irrigation while providing quality forage for grazing animals. An excellent pasture grass seed for the challenging South Atlantic Transitional zone. This mix produces a pasture that will contain approximately:
30% Tall Fescue (endophyte free)
25% Kentucky Bluegrass
20% Orchardgrass
15% Perennial Ryegrass
10% Alfalfa
In an effort to help our customers visualize the finished product, note that the percentages listed above are what you can expect the stand to contain once established. For the contents of this seed mix by weight, please contact us to request a digital copy of the seed tag.
