Dahurian wildrye is a cool-season perennial bunchgrass native to Asia. It’s easy to establish and a strong forage producer, although tends to be short-lived. Stands persist for two or three years. Dahurian wildrye can grow up to five feet tall and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. Prefers cool northern climates and is moderately drought tolerant. It produces excellent quality forage and hay, and recovers quickly after cutting or grazing.
